The Dirty Dishes comes to Radici with Isaac Carew and Francesco Mazzei

The Dirty Dishes

This autumn, chef and model Isaac Carew will be joining Francesco Mazzei at his Islington trattoria, Radici, for an exciting series of supper clubs. Over four dinners from October to February, guests will be given an exclusive preview of dishes from Isaac’s debut cookbook, The Dirty Dishes (March 2019), all cooked alongside renowned Calabrian chef, Francesco Mazzei.

Isaac’s father was a chef, and from a young age, Isaac was keen to follow in his footsteps. He trained at catering college and soon ended up working for some of the best chefs of the time, under Gordon Ramsay at The Connaught and at Cielo, Miami with Angela Hartnett. Modelling put a stop to Isaac’s chef career after he was scouted outside Selfridges; a moment that would lead to him being taken across the world working for fashion houses including Hermès. The Dirty Dishes marks his return to the world of food, with a book that draws both on classic dishes and his extensive travels to offer a collection of 100 delicious recipes.

The supper club series will launch on 9 October, with Isaac cooking up some of his favourite dishes from the book, such as Burrata and Beetroot Carpaccio and Dirty Lasagne. Francesco will also be in the kitchen, giving Isaac a helping hand and whipping up his classic Chicken Calabrese and Marsala Tiramisu to go alongside Isaac’s recipes.

The second dinner will be held at Radici on 6 November with the dates for January and February 2019 to be announced in due course. Tickets to the supper clubs are priced at £35 including a drink on arrival and a three course meal cooked by Isaac and Francesco. Guests will also have the option to pre-order a copy of The Dirty Dishes. Tickets can be purchased from D&D online gift shop: https://shop.danddlondon.com/product/isaac-carew-x-francesco-mazzei-supper-club/

About Radici:

In spring 2017, Francesco Mazzei opened Radici, an authentic Italian trattoria in Islington, the area of London he has made his home. Radici translates as ‘roots’, and reflects the Calabrian and southern Italian cuisine of Francesco’s heritage, all served in a relaxed and welcoming environment. The kitchen at Radici is run by Head Chef Giuseppe Cafaro, who has been one of Francesco’s right-hand men for many years. About Isaac Carew:

The Dirty Dishes is chef and model Isaac Carew’s debut cookbook. It features the food that has inspired his life-long love of cooking. Isaac’s dad and godfather both worked in kitchens, so Isaac grew up washing mussels and leafy greens. He qualified as a chef in his teens and went on to work in some of the best restaurants in the world. Since then, via a high-profile modelling career, Isaac has nurtured his passion for great cooking and diverse food, with the fashion capitals of the world as his inspiration.

The Dirty Dishes returns Isaac to his first love with a fresh and modern collection of 100 recipes: from lazy brunches to easy weekday suppers, and from vegan delights to late-night bites. He shares new takes on popular dishes such as Poached Salmon Niçoise, and the more adventurous Tamarind Treacle Tart. Stylish and bursting with flavour, the book reveals the secrets of Isaac’s culinary training and gives readers everything they need to get a bit messy and have fun in the kitchen.

The Dirty Dishes will be published on 7 March 2019 by Bluebird, an imprint of Pan Macmillan. The book is available to pre-order on Amazon
