June 2018…/ In perfect timing for a hot London summer, and ahead of National Ice Cream Month in July, Great Northern Hotel, the King’s Cross luxury boutique hotel, is delighted to announce a playful new addition to its delicious room service offering: a delectable ice cream menu to be enjoyed at any hour of the day or night. Great Northern Hotel have created this naughty but nice service in collaboration with local King’s Cross ice cream wizards, Ruby Violet.

Three tempting flavours will be available at Great Northern Hotel to order in-room by guests whenever their hearts desire:

Salted caramel & almond nut brittle – a delectable combination of salted caramel ice cream with a salted caramel swirl rippled through during the churning process. French Fleur de Sel and Californian almonds make a delicious crunchy brittle complementing the smooth texture of the ice cream.

Violet chocolate chip – Reminiscent of the childhood flavour of Palma violets, perfectly combined with moreish chocolate chips, this is a truly intense ice cream.

Elderflower & Prosecco sorbet – A clean, refreshing sorbet made from elderflower cordial from the Vale of Belvoir. For every small batch they make, Ruby Violet pop open a bottle of prosecco to add some fizz to this unique summertime treat.

“Ice Cream Room Service” will be available to all guests of Great Northern Hotel, 24 hours a day, throughout the summer from now until September 2018. In addition, every guest floor of the hotel has a beautifully equipped Pantry from which guests can help themselves to home-based cakes, tea and Nespresso coffee, other sweet treats, and books, newspapers and magazines all on a complimentary basis.

Ruby Violet creates small batch, handmade ice creams, sorbets and frozen delights. Inspired by founder Julie’s grandmother, Ruby Violet blossomed from a lifelong love of the delectable and the unusual. Ruby Violet have created hundreds of flavours, from traditional classics to unusual delicacies, but whatever the flavour, they always use only organic milk and the most simple or unusual fresh ingredients.

Great Northern Hotel is located in the heart of King’s Cross St Pancras, an area that has undergone a remarkable renaissance in recent years.
