Introducing Kitchen 264 @ The Collection

Following its successful re-launch last year with a cutting edge design by Tom Dixon, Chelsea institution The Collection is delighted to announce the launch of its brand new restaurant – Kitchen 264.  Executive chef Oded Oren, one of Israel’s most talented and sought-after chefs has relocated to the UK to take charge of the kitchen and has created a modern Mediterranean menu perfect for the restaurant’s Chelsea location.

Oded who was previously head chef of Turkiz, one of Tel Aviv’s hottest seafood restaurants, presents a menu which celebrates the Mediterranean’s most vibrant flavours: fresh herbs, zingy citrus, smoky spices and peppery oils. Specials of the day feature alongside the creative à la carte and on weekends there is an additional brunch menu.

Small plate appetizers such as sea bream tartare (£7) and octopus salad (£7) are designed to be shared, whilst more substantial starters and mains include grilled lamb stuffed calamari and caraway (£13), grouper ceviche with avocado, citrus and soft herbs (£14) and grilled lemon marinated poussin with sauce vierge (£19). Inventive sides and desserts such as baby gem and red chard salad with tarragon vinaigrette (£4) and apple cake with Zabaione ice cream (£7) complete the offering.

The menu is complemented by a superb and keenly priced drinks list. Diners can select from a range of signature cocktails such as a Blueberry Bellini (£10.25), or ‘Italian Job’ made with limoncello, campari, lime, passion fruit and red grapefruit juice (9.50). A comprehensive wine list features an impressive number of Champagnes including vintage bottles and magnums from several well-loved houses: Pommery, Laurent-Pol Roger, Dom Perignon. As for white, red and rosé, both old world and new world are well represented, taking in classic French and Italian bottles as well as Greek, American and Australian choices.

In addition to the restaurant, guests can also enjoy The Collection Lounge Bar, a perfect spot to enjoy drinks both pre and post-dinner, making this premier venue an ideal all evening destination. The striking space is styled with leather and velvet banquette seating, Dixon’s trademark metallic lighting and scorched wood and exposed brickwork walls. Located on a mezzanine level, Kitchen 264 is similarly decked out and also features a distinctive champagne bar serving signature champagne cocktails.

Natalie Ivesha, Director of Kitchen 264 commented: “The response to our redesign last year was overwhelmingly positive, so launching a new restaurant was the logical next step. We are thrilled to have secured Oded, whose creative and original cooking will make Kitchen 264 a destination in its own right.”
