Lowcountry Bar and Eating House opens in Fulham
Lowcountry Bar & Eating House will launch in Fulham, South West London (4 Fulham High Street, SW6 3LQ) on 17th May. Head Chef Jennifer Ryan (previously at a lowcountry fine dining establishment in St Louis) will offer simple, seasonal American lowcountry food which encompasses cuisine from the southern wilds of the United States from the Carolinas to the Gulf Coast, aiming to challenge British misconceptions about American food. From long weekend lunches with family, to after work drinks with colleagues, to birthday celebrations with friends, lowcountry will be the perfect destination restaurant for both locals and visitors alike.
“I’ll be using the best local ingredients to take you on an historic tour of lowcountry American cuisine”
Jennifer Ryan, Head Chef
The menu at lowcountry will feature a variety of steaks and seafood, as well as traditional lowcountry dishes. Starters will include: she crab soup with jumbo crab meat, sweet roe and grilled corn succotash and lowcountry spare ribs brushed with barbeque sauce. Main courses will include: crawfish, steamed cracked crabs and seafood gumbo, served with andouille sausage and the pinot noir burger basted in red wine and served with grilled red onions, fried pickles and cheese. Traditional favourites such as pecan pie and knickerbocker will be on offer for dessert.
There will be a special set menu available for children (priced at £7.95) that will include two courses, all of your five a day portions of fruit and vegetables and a fresh fruit smoothie. A bar menu offering a range of Southern American snacks including lowcountry spare ribs and skillet corn-bread served with honey pecan butter will also be available, as well as a brunch menu on Saturdays and Sundays from 9am-3pm, offering a selection of omelettes, benedicts, pancakes and traditional cooked breakfasts. With 280 covers, lowcountry will also have a raw bar with crabs, oysters and lobsters where diners can watch the chefs at work cook up a selection of seafood and vegetables. A large outdoor seating area complete with its own smokehouse will be perfect for the summer months and seats over 100.
