Sanderson collaborates with Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé and leading charity mothers2mothers for an exclusive take on iconic Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea
This summer, in collaboration with Laurent-Perrier and mothers2mothers (m2m), Sanderson is launching the Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé Courtyard Garden. In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé, Sanderson will transform their iconic garden into a pink haven, full of flamingos and floral accents. From 2nd May to 26th September, guests can enjoy the famous Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea with a Cuvée Rosé twist and from which a donation will be made to chosen charity partner, m2m.
The Courtyard Garden at Sanderson is a hidden oasis within the hotel, full of nature as well as a fountain and reflecting pool. This summer there will be added extras inspired by Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé. For example, the seated swing will become a throne for the Queen of Hearts, adorned with pink roses for the perfect Instagram moment. Surrounding the chair will be a flock of 50 flamingos, as remembered from Alice’s famous croquet match. This will be a colourful and playful space to allow guests to enjoy summer dining, including the Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea.
The always popular Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea is full of familiar characters and tales from the stories of Lewis Carroll’s ‘Alice in Wonderland’. The menus are hidden inside vintage books whilst sandwich plates feature ticking clocks. The tea is full of classics with a twist, from Tweedle Dee’s lemon curd financier to Alice’s cinnamon, apple and peach ‘Drink Me’ potion. It also includes the traditional scones with clotted cream and jams alongside a selection of Alice-inspired tea infusions. For this special collaboration the Mad Hatters Cuvée Rosé Tea will include the Pink Floquet Cake – a strawberry flamingo with a white chocolate Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé croquet truffle. The tea will be £65, including a glass of Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé.
m2m is an Africa-based, global NGO that works to create healthy families and make sure every child grows up with a bright future, by tackling HIV and other critical health issues. They do this by training, employing and helping to empower mothers living with HIV to become healthcare workers who can then offer advice and support to other women and their families in the same situation. Inexpensive medical interventions can keep mothers and babies healthy, so raising awareness to reduce the stigma of HIV in African communities and implementing a support system for mothers makes a huge difference to the number of infants contracting the virus. During this special collaboration with Sanderson, £1 will be added to every Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea bill to be donated to m2m.

mothers2mothers (m2m) is an international NGO that unlocks the potential of women in sub-Saharan Africa to eliminate paediatric AIDS and create healthy families. Their goal is for every baby, wherever he or she lives, to be born HIV-free and for every child to grow up with a bright future. In 2016 they trained and employed over 1600 local HIV-positive mothers as frontline healthcare workers in sub- Saharan Africa. These women, Mentor Mothers, have an intimate understanding of the social and cultural challenges of living with HIV.
