Sauce Communications to represent chef Paul Ainsworth’s Padstow Townhouse and restaurants

Padstow Townhouse

A boutique hotel, Michelin starred restaurant Paul Ainsworth at No.6 and Rojano’s in the Square, Padstow, Cornwall

London, May 2018/ Sauce Communications is delighted to be handing the PR for acclaimed British chef Paul Ainsworth’s boutique hotel Padstow Townhouse and restaurants Paul Ainsworth at No.6 and Rojano’s in the Square. The three properties are located within a five-minute walk of each other in the picturesque town of Padstow, Cornwall.

Based in Padstow for over 12 years, Paul traded London for Cornwall in 2006 to become head chef at No.6 and in 2009 Paul and his wife Emma took over the business which earned the restaurant a Michelin star just four years later. The couple are extremely passionate about the area and bought Rojano’s in the Square in 2011 and later opened Padstow Townhouse in 2015. Emma plays a key, hands-on role in the business, working with Paul to maintain and enhance high hospitality standards.

The six-suite Padstow Townhouse, set in the Old Town, is the realisation of the couple’s dream to offer their diners somewhere to stay. Each room in the adult-only hotel was decorated by Emma and interior designer Eve Cullen-Cornes. With an individual style, no two rooms are the same from the rich green fabrics in Toffee Apple, inspired by the gardens of local landmark Prideaux Place, to the sumptuously patterned Rhubarb & Custard in deep orange and reds. In typically playful style, the Townhouse’s guestrooms are named after

traditional British sweets, and all rooms feature 40” curved televisions complete with Apple TV.

All guestrooms come with amenities from Cornish organic skincare brand Bloom Remedies. Created exclusively for Padstow Townhouse, the products include the Serenity Slumber body and hand lotion to help guests sleep. Spa treatments are available in-room and range from the ‘Island Escape’ 80-minute massage using warm tiger clam shells from the Philippines to the shorter 30 minute foot and leg massage designed to relieve the limbs of tired walkers.

Townhouse Food & Beverage

Guests can take advantage of the Kitchen Pantry, a fully-stocked kitchen offering indulgent treats, savoury snacks and light bites, alongside wines and spirits and cocktail recipes, all available via an honesty box system. Breakfast is served at No. 6 and the property offers an all-day room service option as well as a picnic hamper service. On arrival, guests will receive tasty in-room treats in the form of local delicacies, and as part of the turndown service, a flask of steaming hot chocolate is delivered in the evening, served alongside delightful homemade macarons. Guests dining at No.6 for lunch or dinner can take advantage of complimentary transfers in an electric BMW or enjoy the short walk between the two.

The Townhouse encourages guests to explore the area with a fleet of Duchess bikes to borrow and Dubarry boots for beach walks. The team are on hand throughout the day to help with any advice for places to visit or arrangements to be made.

No.6 has become synonymous with high-quality ingredients served simply, while incorporating playful twists. Guests can expect oysters from nearby Porthilly, while raw sea bream, chicken ‘Tournedos Rossini’ and aged soy glazed duck are also signatures on the menu. The restaurant is housed in a Georgian townhouse only moments from Padstow harbour.

Paul and Emma built upon their success with Paul Ainsworth at No.6 and acquired Rojano’s in Padstow, a Mediterranean restaurant opened by Stanley Rojano in 1974. In a nod to Paul’s mentor Gary Rhodes, the restaurant was renamed Rojano’s in the Square in 2011 and serves a traditional, Italian-leaning menu seven days a week.

About Paul Ainsworth
Paul grew up in his parents’ Southampton guesthouse, where he absorbed the flavours and stylings of his father’s traditional British cooking and his mother’s Creole-style creations, learned via her Seychellois heritage. Paul went on to study catering and hospitality at Southampton City College before taking a job at London’s Rhodes in the Square from 1998. Paul’s next position was at Gordon Ramsay’s eponymous restaurant in Royal Hospital Road for three years. After only a year and a half at the restaurant, Paul was part of the team that successfully achieved three Michelin stars, one his proudest moments to date. Following this outstanding accomplishment, he worked with Marcus Wareing at Pétrus and the Berkeley Hotel in Knightsbridge.
