Families can relax and enjoy Mother’s Day with a blissful afternoon full of delicious treats at The Den, St Martins Lane. The Den is a classically British, oak-panelled snug, hidden within bustling Covent Garden. The perfect haven of peace, it’s an ideal place to spend a relaxed afternoon on comfortable leather sofas. The afternoon tea includes the classic scones and clotted cream, alongside alternative delights such as a Cherry cheesecake and a Peanut and caramel bonbon. For a luxurious and leisurely lunch this Mother’s Day, families can head over to Plum + Spilt Milk for their special Sunday Roast. The seasonal British menu offers delightful options, including a starter of Potted smoked ham hock, piccalilli & toasted sourdough, a main course of Slow roasted Suffolk pork belly and then delectable pudding choices including an Iced peanut and salted caramel mousse. Plum + Spilt Milk is an elegant space to enjoy Mother’s Day in this year, and the menu is available at £40 per person.
Theo Randall at the InterContinental
This Mother’s Day enjoy a delectable Italian brunch at Theo Randall at the InterContinental. For £67, guests can experience a specially curated menu, designed by Theo Randall. To start, a buffet selection of Italian salads, cured meats, cheese and Italian breads will be available. Guests will then have a choice of Theo’s Recommendations, which includes Carne Salata (thinly sliced black Angus beef with zucchini, rocket pine nuts and parmesan) and Insalata di granchio (fresh Devon crab with Florence fennel, dandelion and Sardinian bottarga). For the third course, guests can choose from a selection of pasta dishes, including Cappelletti di vitello (fresh pasta stuffed with slow cooked veal with pancetta, porcini mushrooms and parmesan). The penultimate course offers dishes such as Branzino al forno (roasted sea bass with tomatoes, olives, capers, roasted Sicilian red peppers and rainbow chard) and Trota di mare (roasted sea trout fillet with zucchini trifolati, datterini tomatoes, Italian spinach, capers and taggiasche olives). To finish, a selection of desserts to share will be served to the table and for those still craving something sweet, freshly made crepes and a range of condiments are available at ‘Theo’s Dessert Shop’. Unlimited Prosecco and Bloody Mary’s will be available for two hours from the time of arrival.

Inspired by the Italian tradition of giving Mimosa flowers to women to show them they are special, Francesco Mazzei has created a special Mimosa Cake for Mother’s Day which will be available from Radici, Sartoria and Fiume on Sunday 11 March. This light sponge with a decadent chocolate filling is available throughout the day as the perfect pudding to follow a spoiling meal or as a mid-afternoon treat to enjoy with a rich Italian coffee. Furthermore, any mothers visiting Fiume for brunch on Mothering Sunday will be entitled to a complimentary glass of bubbles to get the celebrations underway!
