Sauce loves… thoughtful food
From bake sales to charity dinners, we all know that giving feels good, especially when there’s food involved! There are plenty of restaurants supporting deserving charities out there, so we’ve rounded up some of our favourites.

Soup for Syria at Arabica Bar and Kitchen
Since January 2016, Arabica Bar and Kitchen has been supporting the Soup for Syria initiative, established to provide urgently needed food relief for Syrian refugees in the Levant. Following the success of their winter red lentil soup, they have introduced a healthy chilled summer soup which will include £2 donation to the Soup for Syria campaign. To date, the initiative has raised over £1,300.
James Walters commented: “Being a Levantine inspired restaurant we don’t feel that we can simply sit back and ignore the crisis in Syria. Teaming up with Soup for Syria, means all profits go straight to the UN Refugee Agency UNHCR to provide urgently needed food relief for Syrian refugees in the Levant… it’s the very least we can do to raise awareness and donate money raised from a dish on the menu as a gesture of compassion and solidarity. The soup is £5 a bowl – its a light refreshing summery blend of avocado, yellow pepper, cucumber, spring onions and mint. It’s healthy, packed full of flavour and we hope it will leave guests feeling a sense of solidarity of our shared humanity.”
Salt Yard Group: Little gestures
Each restaurant within the Salt Yard Group supports a different charity by adding a discretionary donation of £1.00 on to each bill. While it may seem a small gesture, these little donations add up to a big difference for the organisations they benefit.

Dehesa’s scheme donates to Switchback, an intensive mentoring programme that supports young people going through the criminal system to make positive, life-changing decisions. Opera Tavern’s donations support Shuktara to continue their vital work with children and young people affected by disabilities in Kolkata, India through housing, health support and love. Ember Yard sends their donation to The Cardinal Hume Foundation, and organistaion that empowers and educates young people and families in need the skills and power to overcome poverty and homelessness.
