The recently-launched autumn menu at Tom’s Kitchen is full of healthy and hearty delights. Amongst the vegetarian and vegan offerings is this this seasonal and light Squash, Shiitake Mushroom & Kale Salad with a delicious creamy coconut and cashew dressing. Tom’s Kitchen restaurants and delis, located in Chelsea, Canary Wharf, St Katharine Docks, Somerset House, and Birmingham, all serve British favourites and comfort food classics in a relaxed and informal environment. With an emphasis on where food comes from and how it is grown, Tom’s Kitchen is dedicated to using UK-based suppliers and local producers. This vegan dish is available for £14 across all sites.
Pollen Street Social
Jason Atherton’s original Michelin-starred restaurant, Pollen Street Social, doesn’t shy away from vegan food, and its vegan tasting menu was the first Michelin-starred vegan menu ever to be launched in London. Using British grown, seasonal produce, the vegan tasting menu comes in at £75 for 8 courses, and includes the likes of Heritage tomato tartare, sesame, summer herbs, verjus granite and Braised broccoli stem, lemon purée, toasted almonds & seaweed (subject to change and seasonality). An accompanying organic wine flight is also available.
The Redemption Bar
Based in Shoreditch, serves up vegan, sugar-free and wheat-free food in a gorgeous setting. Voted one of the best vegan restaurants in London the ethos of the Redemption Bar is firmly rooted in caring for the planet.
London’s first mindfulness café, serves up delicious and nutritious vegan dishes and detoxifying freshly pressed juices in a unique meditation station. In a serene environment, guests are invited to sip green juice, settle into a meditation pod, select a 5 to 7-minute guided mindfulness meditation, and emerge feeling refreshed and de-stressed. Yeotown Kitchen is an extension of the Devon-based wellness retreat Yeotown, co-founded by husband and wife team Mercedes Sieff, one of the UK’s leading vinyasa flow yoga teachers and positive psychology coach, and Simon Sieff, avid surfer and yogi. Together, the couple have nurtured and fine-tuned their shared vision of an authentic and original healthy lifestyle retreat, with its empowering and inspiring emphasis on true health and optimum wellbeing.
Theo Randall at the Intercontinental
Award-winning Italian restaurant Theo Randall at the Intercontinental is now offering a flavourful and varied vegan brunch for guests following a plant-based diet. A la carte and set menus (two for £29 or three courses for £35) celebrate the simple yet robust flavours of Italian cooking, with seasonality at heart. Each course offerings include one or more gluten-free options, often a rare find for vegans and vegetarians. New dishes include Antipasto di verdure (marinated red peppers, farinata, swiss chard, fresh borlotti beans on bruschetta, Taggiasche olives and basil) for £13, Minestone estivo (soup of fresh borlotti beans, swiss chard, plum tomatoes, celery, carrots and basil) for £11, and Risotto di zucchini Pomodoro (risotto with courgettes, San Marzano tomatoes and basil) for £12.
Pan-Asian restaurant group, Tootoomoo, have a few things up their sleeve when it comes to their plant-based offering. Their exclusive ‘Veggie menu’ includes a high proportion of vegan dishes, such as Kappa maki (Futo maki rolls of cucumber and roasted mixed sesame seed, served with gari pickled ginger, soy and wasabi) and a Lemongrass tofu stir-fry. The menu is available to eat-in or take away from Tootoomoo’s Whetstone, Crouch End, and Islington branches, and to take away from the Highgate branch.
