Son Brull Spa unveils Autumn Ritual

London, October 2018 / As the weather sets to get colder in the UK, enjoy the last of the Indian summer at Son Brull, Mallorca, where temperatures on the island still reach highs of 25°C. The perfect spot to enjoy some late season sun, the luxury boutique hotel has created a new seasonal treatment at their recently opened spa to prepare the body for chillier temperatures. Designed to boost circulation and heal skin that has been exposed to UV rays over the summer months, the two-hour Autumn Ritual aims to reset the body and mind.

The new spa at Son Brull is based around the four elements with a particular focus on getting back to nature and reconnecting with the earth. Each seasonal ritual has been developed to give a fully holistic experience, with oils, scrubs and balms created with the essence of Opuntia Ficus, more commonly known as the prickly pear, a member of the cactus family. Part of the Mallorcan landscape for centuries, the prickly pear will act as the main product ingredient, with its seeds used to exfoliate and oil, full of antioxidants, to soothe, along with aromas of other Mediterranean plants grown in the garden.

The regenerating Autumn Ritual is a bespoke treatment, aiming to detect individual needs as well as calming the mind and relaxing the whole body. The ritual starts with reflexology, where the therapist can quickly detect the problem areas whether its muscule tension, issues with internal organs or emotional stress. With this information the body massage can then be customised. Using hot stones essential oils, the process invites deep muscle relaxation the entire body. The final treatment in the Autumn Ritual is a three-step facial which begins with a face massage which allows the active ingredients in the products to work better on the skin. The therapist will then apply a facial balm made with oils and flowers from the prickly pear, to hydrate the skin, followed by a nourishing mask using the plant’s seeds. The ritual ends with a 15-minute relaxation period.

All the treatment rooms overlook the beautiful countryside and hills of northern Mallorca. The spa includes of an indoor water circuit pool, jacuzzi, sauna, Hammam and a yoga and meditation room offering complimentary daily group yoga.

The Autumn Ritual starts at €225 for two hours. The spa is open to non-residents, offering half and full day packages from €175. Nightly rates at Son Brull Hotel & Spa start from €215 for a Superior Room including breakfast, based on two adults sharing.
