Sauce loves… World Gin Day
Nothing beats a good gin & tonic at the weekend, so we’re hugely excited about #WorldGinDay tomorrow! Here are some great ways to celebrate it –
Tredwell’s are serving up their latest dose of fabulous gin & jazz on Sunday. Featuring an intimate live set from Flo Moore, Ronan Perrett and Will Barry – tickets are £15 and include a ’Sipster’ cocktail made with Sipsmith Gin, pear, pear liqueur, lemon and soda. Book at http://www.tredwells.com/
The Trading House has an entire menu of gins from around the world, served with botanical garnishes. Gin Mare, Botanist, Chase – you name it! View the menu here.
City Social‘s bar also has a whole menu dedicated to the humble G&T, but with a twist. Served with accompaniments like banana and whisky drops (and with a side of that amazing view). View their menu here.
Sip your G&T on the brand new terrace at Tom’s Kitchen in Canary Wharf. The terrace is open daily for lunch, dinner and drinks, with live music every other Tuesday. www.tomskitchen.co.uk
If you like your gin even more luxurious, try the Truffle Rosemary Fizz at Tartufi & Friends, located on the lower ground floor of Harrods. Dry gin, truffle honey syrup, fresh lime juice, and club soda.
The London Fun Fair at Yashin Ocean House is made with Junmai gin and aperol mixed with cucumber, grapefruit, lemon and mint, topped up with tonic water.
Ember Yard’s unique cocktails are inspired by grilling and smoking classic ingredients to add a distinctive twist. Try the Geppetto’s Tonica – gin, homemade tonic water and grapefruit bitters.
Try the Blooming Hibiscus at Chai Wu. Tanqueray gin, hibiscus flower, hibiscus syrup, lychee juice and fresh lime.
And finally, to make a unique gin and tonic cocktail in the comfort of your own home – why not try making a coconut gin and tonic! This works amazingly well with a bottle of MightyBee (recipe credit – minimalistbaker.com)

– 2oz coconut water
– juice of 1/2 lime
