Chef James Cochran: 2020, a Year to Make a Mark

2020 was a news making year for too many reasons to count, and not always good.  Chef James Cochran of neighbourhood restaurant 12:51 took the year as the chance to make hay even though the sun was not shining at all; and what delicious hay it was. His long-time dedication to his craft, resilience and good humour, meant there was plenty of opportunities to help elevate his profile, partner with likeminded brands and individuals and ensure James was not only a London lockdown hero, but continued to inspire on a national level following his breakout on Great British Menu the precious year.

Sauce helped James launch his lockdown fried chicken concept, Around the Cluck, a franchise pub programme to mutually benefit wet led pubs with his menu, paid partnerships with the likes of Soho House, Martel and Matches Fashion and become a voice in the representation of Black Talent; all culminating in him being selected as CODE Hospitality’s 2020 top 5 influential voices of the industry and a judge for the GQ awards 2021.
