On the 14th May, the London Wine Week celebrations will commence, but we don’t need a special week to celebrate the amazing wines offered by our brilliant clients! From wine bars and restaurants to experts and producers, let us raise a glass to those serving up some of the best vinos around!
Social Wine & Tapas
Executive sommelier Laure Patry has created a dynamic wine list offering quality, rare and fine wines sourced from around the world, alongside modern tapas and snacks from head chef Marcus Rohlen. Wine lovers can enjoy the wine of Social Wine and Tapas’ from the comfort of their own home, with all bottles available to purchase from the wine shop attached to the restaurant. Offering trained sommeliers on hand at all times for tastings and recommendations, the team offer help and guidance for guests looking to find their perfect wine. Between 14th-20th May, the restaurant will be offering guests using the London Wine Week app the opportunity to enjoy a plate of Pan con Tomate and a glass of Cava Franck Massard, Brut Nature NV, or a Lincolshire Poacher Hard Cheese and a glass of Rioja white Viura, 4 caminos 2016, for just £11.
Wine Cellars at The Stafford London
What better way to celebrate London Wine Week than in the 380 year-old wine cellars of The Stafford London in St James’s. Originally built in the 17th century and used as an air-raid shelter in WWII, the cellars are overflowing with history. Today, along with a fascinating informal “museum” of artefacts left behind in wartimes, the working cellars house up to 8,000 bottles of the finest wines, including many rare and precious vintages. Overseen by Master Sommelier Gino Nardella, who has worked at The Stafford for over forty years, the wine cellars hold one of most complete collections in London with a wide range of vintages in half bottle and imperial sizes, as well an impressive selection of vintage Cognacs, Armagnacs, ports and single malt whiskies, some dating back to the 1920’s.
Located in the heart of Belgravia, The Goring houses the Michelin-starred restaurant, The Dining Room, as well as the relaxed and inviting Bar & Lounge. Both provide the perfect spot to enjoy wines from The Goring Cellar’s impressive collection, as overseen by Head Sommelier Jean-Baptiste Lemoine. By using the revolutionary Coravin system, many of The Goring’s fine wines are available to enjoy by the glass as well as the bottle, allowing guests to switch seamlessly from a glass of Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, Domaine Bruno Clair 2006, to a Rioja Gran Reserva Especial, Castillo Ygay 2007.
In 2016, Paulo de Tarso and Nicolas Jaouën opened the doors to Margot in Covent Garden. The restaurant is a true celebration of seamless service, refined interiors and the authentic food of Italy, all offered alongside an extensive international wine list overseen by Head Sommelier Sabrina Manolio. Offering over 360 wines, the list at Margot focuses on Italy’s various regions, with France and the rest of the old and new world also well represented.
Michael Simms at Sartoria
Saville Row hotspot Sartoria is home to one of London’s most-celebrated wine experts, Master Sommelier Michael Simms. With a menu packed full of refined Italian classics crafted by Chef Patron Francesco Mazzei, Simms took up the challenge of creating a superb wine list to match. After spending many years as head sommelier at The Ritz, followed by Claridge’s, The Savoy and The Berkeley he was more than up to the task and has subsequently drawn together a superb collection, showcasing the best of Italian winemaking.

Frenchie Covent Garden by Gregory Marchand (nicknamed ‘Frenchie’ by Jamie Oliver) boasts an extensive wine list, sourced from regions all over the world. The wine menu compliments Greg’s international cuisine, ensuring that every dish is matched perfectly. The list includes Frenchie’s sommelier’s guilty pleasure – the 2015 Ochota Barrel, The Slint, a stunning Chardonnay from Adelaide, Australia. It’s the perfect spring white!
Included within the Frenchie empire is Frenchie Wine Bar and Frenchie Wine Shop – both located on Rue de Nil, in the second arrondissement of Paris.
