#EATWELLWORKWELL Lunch, Special Guest Melissa Hemsley @ 100 Wardour Street 12.30pm
Why are we breaking in the middle of the day at the glorious underground eaterie at 100 Wardour Street? To remind women that breaks – balance – matters. And who better to explore modern working patterns, with Step Up Club than the all round brilliance that is Melissa Hemsley.
#EATWELLWORKWELL is the simple act of not sitting at your desk: it’s getting out, it’s eating well, it’s making time for personal space, thinking and good food in the middle of the day. Guests will enjoy a delicious banquet of Tiger Prawns with Citrus Butter, Crispy Pork Belly with Celeriac and Apple Puree, Iron Age Steak with Chimichurri and Crispy Shallots as well as Mushroom Flatbread with Crème Fraiche and Garlic. A selection of sweet and savoury treats will follow, including Pecorino and Truffle Honey, Vanilla Panna Cotta and Plum Compote.
Melissa Hemsley is a real food lover and one half of Hemsley + Hemsley, who have a primetime cookery show on Channel 4, two bestselling cookbooks and an all-day London café at Selfridges.
Melissa is a Young British Foodies Judge and has recently spoken on Channel 4 news and SKY News on behalf of Cook For Syria. Melissa is committed to bold, simple, healthy food based around accessible ingredients, minimal waste, preparing ahead and freezing for later, and innovative recipes that anyone can cook and enjoy. Melissa has exciting projects in the works coming soon!
#Nordic Tea @ Aster 3.30pm
To round-off the day D&D opens the doors of its latest addition to the group, Aster in the heart of Victoria. Guests will be invited to a traditional Nordic Tea with freshly baked pastries, Cinnamon Buns and their famous Smorgasbord’s.
The final part of the series will see three female chefs discuss their passion for food, what it means to be a woman in a high pressure environment: Executive Head Chef at Aster, Helena Puolakka and new chef at Skylon Kim Woodward have achieved their goals as female chefs in the industry and will be discussing how they rose to the top, stamina in the kitchen and how they relax after a long day.
